On November 9, 2021, Staff Electric presented a donation to the Wisconsin Foster Closet to help 101 children receive gifts during the holidays. This gesture was in honor of Staff Electric celebrating their 101st year in business through 101 Acts of Kindness.
Founded in 2013, The Wisconsin Foster Closet is a non-profit organization that serves children who are impacted by the foster care system. Oftentimes, foster children come into care with nothing but the clothes they are wearing. The Wisconsin Foster Closet’s mission is to provide necessities to these children, leading them to discover their self-esteem and have belongings of their own.
Staff Electric Employee, Ryan Orre, nominated The Wisconsin Foster Closet to receive this charitable donation. “I nominated it because it was local,” he said. “It’s really cool to see how our community comes together to help out children and families who need it most.”
Jessica Hansen is the Director at The Wisconsin Foster Closet. She explained that a large portion of Staff Electric’s donation will help with the shipping costs of gifts. “We run a Christmas for Kids program where we help around 250 foster and kinship children get gifts for Christmas. But truly, our biggest expense comes from needing to ship supplies from our location in Menomonie throughout the state.”
Receiving this charitable donation enabled The Wisconsin Foster Closet to ship clothing, school supplies, and personal care items. These practical gifts will sustain the children during the holiday season and throughout the year. This is The Wisconsin Foster Closet’s way of adding a little bit more holiday magic into these children’s lives.
Staff Electric is proud to have partnered with The Wisconsin Foster Closet to help children in need this holiday season.
“The words, ‘Thank you’ are not big enough to express our gratitude,” shared Jessica on the impact of the donation.
